Boat minding and transportation that actually makes sense for your budget

Most boat management companies in South Florida are built for yacht owners with captains and accountants. We built CME for everyone else — the 30 to 50-foot trawler owner, the offshore fisherman, the bluewater sailor who wants a professional set of eyes on their vessel without paying for a concierge service they don't need.

Want to move your boat? We will pick up your boat at your dock and get her to where you need her to be by land or by sea. Dock to dock with all the details in the middle taken care of.

“Unlike so many other “boat guys” in Florida, Jonathan has ACTUALLY been there/done that. He’s lived on his boat up and down the East Coast, Bahamas and Caribbean. He has also fully refit many sail and power boats from the ground up. He’s got the experience to help you get the most out of your boat!”

Boat Transportation Services

Vessel Delivery

Point-to-point delivery for sail and power vessels, coastal and offshore. We plan routing around weather windows, fuel stops, and draft/air-draft constraints — particularly relevant for multihulls and shoal-draft vessels navigating the ICW.

Overland Transport

Need your boat moved by land instead of water? We are DOT registered marine haulers for trailering, oversized-load permitting, and scheduling — owning the process end-to-end so pickup, transit, and drop-off go smoothly.

How it works

  1. Consultation — Tell us the origin, destination, and timeline.

  2. Plan — We scope the route (water or land), identify weather/permit windows, and quote.

  3. Prep — Vessel readiness check and rigging/tie-down as needed.

  4. Transport — CME executes; you get status updates along the way.

  5. Arrival — Post-transport inspection and handoff.

Pricing

Delivery and transport quotes are scoped per trip based on distance, vessel size, and route complexity — flat quote for defined trips, T&M for open-ended or standby work

Service Area

Florida-based, with delivery routes throughout the East Coast, Bahamas, and Caribbean. Overland transportation available nationwide.

We are experts in moving boats, on land or sea, between the Northeast and Southeast. Seasonal movement packages are available.

Why Contre Marine?

We're boaters.

Jonathan Contre has lived aboard, cruised the East Coast, Bahamas, and Caribbean, and personally refit sail and power vessels from the ground up. When he tells you what's wrong with your boat — or what can wait — he's drawing on experience, not a checklist.

  • Photo reports delivered after every inspection — you always know exactly what was found

  • No work over $300 proceeds without your approval — ever

  • We'll tell you when something can wait — not every issue needs a bill attached to it

  • Transparent pass-through pricing on parts and subcontractors

  • Technical depth from diesel mechanicals to fiberglass — we handle more in-house than most

Your Questions, Answered

How do we begin working together?

Send Jonathan a note using the contact form below. We’ll get in touch and talk boats and schedule a time to meet in person.

Can you work with my preferred shipyard or service provider?

Absolutely. We regularly collaborate with our colleagues in the marine industry. Our role is to create detailed plans, coordinate with their teams, and provide oversight to ensure quality and budget alignment.

Can you help me learn to operate, maintain and upgrade my own boat?

That’s what we love to do! The best way to have a great day on the water is to be confident in your skills and in your vessel. Jonathan can help you build that confidence by working with you directly on your boat to achieve your goals.
